CERTH participates in OCARIoT with the Information Technologies Institute (ITI).
The Information Technologies Institute (ITI) was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of Greece, with its head office located in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 10.3.2000, it is a founding member of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) also supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT). CERTH/ITI is one of the leading Institutions of Greece in the fields of Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications, with long experience in numerous European and national R&D projects, It is active in a large number of research domains such as Security and Surveillance, Image and Signal Processing, Computer & Cognitive Vision, Human Computer Interaction, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Multimedia, Database and Information Systems and Social Media Analysis. Since its establishment, CERTH/ITI has participated in more than 155 research projects funded by the European Commission (IST FP5-FP6-FP7) and more than 160 research projects funded by Greek National Research Programmes and Consulting Subcontracts with the Private Sector (I&T Industry). ITI currently has 216 employees including Scientific Personnel (Researchers, Collaborating faculty members, Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Postgraduate Research Fellows, and Research Assistants), Administrative and Technical Staff. The Information Technology Institute exhibits substantial research activity, both basic and industry-oriented, as well as technology transfer actions holding high experience in the topics and objectives of the project. Some of the key research areas addressed within the scope of the Institute is Service oriented architecture and multi-sensorial infrastructures, simulation platforms development, visual analytics for highly complex systems, new sensor developments, HCI and multimedia analysis/synthesis, e-health, assistive technologies. More specifically, CERTH/ITI will bring in the consortium the technical knowledge for IOT and smart connected objects in the area of health and ageing developed within European (OASIS, UNIVERSAAL, Frailsafe) and National projects (ENNOISIS). Consequently, and taking into consideration the available infrastructures, CERTH will further augment knowledge obtained from other projects in interoperable ICT and user modelling (VERITAS, CareviersPro, Frailsafe), adaptive interfaces and analytics (Cloud4all, P4ALL, AEGIS, ACCESSIBLE), affective computing (gait, gestures, facial from FP7 Interstress, H2020 RAMCIP) and will facilitate its experience on Decision Support Systems and Smart algorithms for data management and analysis like the VERITAS, myAirCoach H2020 projects
